Heat treatment, one of the most important factors influencing the service life of tools, sets the desired properties of the material, e.g. hardness and toughness. Vacuum heat treatment is the optimum prerequisite for subsequent surface treatments and offers a number of advantages over conventional heat treatment processes. The vacuum process offers more precise temperature control, improved surface quality and the ability to treat high-alloy materials without oxidizing or contaminating them. 

In CVD coating, a chemical process is used to apply a layer of a solid component just a few micrometers thick to the surface. The CVD process produces conformal coatings even on surfaces with complex shapes. The result is a high-precision coating with exceptional properties such as maximum hardness, wear resistance and chemical resistance. By precisely controlling the coating process, even complicated tools can be coated evenly, resulting in improved performance and durability.  

The PVD process is one of the most innovative vacuum coating processes, in which the starting material is converted into the gas phase by means of arc evaporation and condensed onto the tool. The high-performance coatings are characterized by high hardness and wear resistance, as well as low adhesion tendency. They also offer excellent adhesion to the surface. Thanks to their ability to significantly improve the performance and durability of tools and components, PVD coatings have become an indispensable part of modern manufacturing processes. 

Plasma nitriding is a process for improving the surface properties of tools through plasma-assisted diffusion of nitrogen into the tool surface.The result is an optimization of the surface hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the product without changing the basic structure. 

Induction hardening is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, in which a high-frequency current flows through an induction coil and a strong alternating magnetic field is generated. This field induces eddy currents in the surface of the workpiece, which lead to localized heating.

The targeted heating and subsequent rapid cooling using water or air creates a martensite structure in the surface of the workpiece, which ensures increased hardness and wear resistance.
